US Figure Skating announced a revised Mask Policy on July 30, 2021 in response to the new Delta variant of COVID-19 currently circulating in the United States. The new safety protocols go into effect today, August 2, 2021. You may read their entire statement here. US Figure Skating has stated that they will require athletes and attendees of USFS sanctioned activities to mask up while inside buildings regardless of vaccination status. It was great to see so many competitors and we're grateful to the families (and chaperones) and the Coaches who dedicate so much of their time to support the skaters and the sport of Figure Skating as a whole. Congratulations to Ava Zubik! The Atlanta Open Competition honors our late life member, Olympic Judge Susan Johnson with an annual award named after her, awarded to the Singles skater with the highest Component Score from their Initial round Intermediate Free Skate (Ladies and Men). The 2021 Susan Johnson Award winner is Ava Zubik from the Panthers Figure Skating Club. Congratulations, Ava!
