We had an amazing six days of non-stop competition beginning with the East Coast Non-Qualifying Championships on Monday then the 2022 Championship Series in Alpharetta running from Tuesday through Saturday. Congratulations to all of the competitors and extra celebrations for those who achieved a place on the podium! We saw some incredible performances over the week and it was truly an honor to host these events and have so many in attendance.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our volunteers and hospitality donors who took on so many critical tasks and without whom competitions like these simply cannot run; thank you for taking time out of your week to make this a great event for our competitors and officials. We also owe a great debt of gratitude to all of our Judges, Technical Panel, Referees and Accountants who make the actual events possible and all of whom donate their time, energy and expertise to the sport of figure skating. The Music, Announcing and Video teams delivered a professional experience to our skaters and spectators, and the live streamed video looked and sounded amazing.

We owe our sincere thanks to the Local Organizing Committee led by Tea Junnila and Lori Malthaner. These competitions have been two years in the making, and with the assistance of the Board of Directors and other sub-committee chairs, the LOC as a whole worked tirelessly to prepare and deliver an event worthy of the competitors. Tea, Lori, we have no idea how you do what you do, but we are so grateful that you do it!

If we have missed thanking anybody, please know that it is this author’s fault, and your contributions are very much appreciated by the club. As the saying has it, “it takes a village,” and in this case it took a small city.

Finally, thank you to the competitors. We are thrilled to see you compete, and we hope you had a special and memorable time.

Sincerely — AFSC.
